Press Release: The memorial marking the grave of internationally acclaimed scientist Dr. Hideyo Noguchi will be restored this fall through a generous contribution made by the Japanese Medical Society of America. The monument, located in the Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, will be cleaned for the first time in eighty years. Hideyo Noguchi died in 1928 after contracting yellow fever, the disease he was researching to develop a vaccine.
