Some gatherings are unforgettable. With over 200 attendees, the most attendance in our history, the 2006 Spring Dinner was one of them. Highlights of the night were numrous. Dr. Roy Ashikiri, past JMSA President, and Frank Ellsworth, President of the Japan Society where honored with the JMSA Lifetime Achievement Award. Ambassador Motatsu Sakurai of the Consulate General of Japan, New York, honored us with a speech. A total of 11 scholarships were awarded to aspiring nursing, dental, and medical professionals who have contributed to the Japanese community. Entertainment was provided by John Nuzzo of the Metropolitin Opera and the band Red Hot Rhythm. And of course, we can't forget the corporate and private donors to the JMSA who make JMSA events, scholarships, and community programs possible.
