Cough and Cold Medications in Children Less Than Two Years of Age (January 17, 2008) FDA has reviewed information regarding the safety of over-the-counter cough and cold medicines in children under 2 years of age and recommends that these drugs not be used in children in this age group due to potentially life-threatening side effects.
