Denture Cleanser Allergic Reactions and Misuse (February 26, 2008)

FDA notified dental health care professionals and patients of the risk of serious allergic reactions in users of denture cleansers. These adverse events include abdominal pain, vomiting, seirzures, hypotension, and difficulty breathing, and can occur within the first use or after years of use. FDA has recommended that manufacturers of denture cleansers modify their labeling to include warning information about potential allergens and improve the directions for use.
